I am setting up some post-secondary office hours for this year. On most Tuesdays and Thursdays, I will be available for post-secondary meetings from 2:05-3:00pm.

Please email me to schedule an appointment so I can reserve the time for you. These are available for students and/or parents.

In addition, we will be holding our annual College Night to learn about the college application process, financial aid process, and scholarship applications. Please save the date for: Sept. 30th 7pm-8pm!

After school meetings can also be arranged, but need to be scheduled in advance. 

We are in application season! Have your student show you their common app checklists. 

Take a look at the following timeline:

FAFSA opens:

  • Oct. 1st

Early Action or Early Decision: 

  • Oct. 15th-Dec 1st (depending on the school!)

Regular Decision:

  • Dec. 1st-Feb. 1st (depending on the school!)

Scholarships due:

  • Jan 1st- June 15th (depending on the scholarship)

  • Community College and Trade School programs are rolling, ie. first come first served

Right now 12th grade students are focusing on:

  1. Beginning essay drafting

  2. School searching and working on their Top 10

  3. Activities section drafting

After Sept. 29th they will be working on:

  1. Essay draft 1

  2. Activities section 

  3. Asking for letters of recommendation!- use template given out in class

After October 6th they will be working on:

  1. Essay draft 2

  2. Application info completed

  3. Supplemental writing draft 1

After October 14th they will be working on:

  1. Essay Final draft

  2. Finalizing Top 10

  3. Supplemental writing draft 2

4. Reminder notes for letters of recommendation- if needed

After Oct. 20th they will be working on:

  1. Thank you notes & Follow up letters- if done w/ apps

  2. Final Top 10- with wiggle room for later deadlines

  3. Supplemental writing done
