The excitement for the conclusion of our current school year is building. But we have a number of major hurdles to leap over before we get there. For many staff and students, there will be a very busy week of rehearsals and performances for the upcoming production of Matilda. Another major one is our secondary expedition to Quebec. There are additional multiple dates for end of the year activities that we are finalizing. We will send out a list of those dates for you to put on your calendars. And now a word from our NHCS GSIA on what was a very successful trip to Portland last weekend.
Thanks to generous support from the community, the NHCS gender/sexuality/inclusivity alliance (GSIA) had an incredible spring trip. We first brought our cleaning kits to Maine Needs, where we enjoyed a tour of their facility and learned how they serve the entire state. Then we viewed USM’s special collection of artifacts relating to LGBTQ+ history in Maine, expertly guided by librarian Susie Bock. We ended the evening at Portland Stage’s beautiful, thought-provoking production of Angels in America, and even got to see the aurora borealis after!
