Where are they?

We've put up with so much rain lately, where are those May flowers we've been promised? I guess we have to be a little more patient.

Thankfully, we have several events coming up this week that can offer us a little distraction. We are otherwise solidly in the home stretch towards the end of the school year, meaning we're going to seemingly fly through a barrage of special events throughout May and early June. This includes things like our 2025 commencement, of course, the sports banquet, a college visit to Boston for our high school, and academic awards ceremonies. Once we have the dates and times finalized, we will send out all the information you need.

In addition to those end of year events, we are also in the thick of organizing and preparing for next school year. Middle and high school students will have an opportunity to meet with teachers regarding their upcoming academic years, and we'll "step-up" our Pre-K students to acknowledge what will be a major milestone in their lives, coming up to the "big school." More details to come.

LISTEN I School Matinee - Collaboration with the Halcyon String Quartet

Thursday, May 8th, 2 - 3pm in NHCS Gym

Next Thursday, May 8th from 2 - 3pm we will have an all-school assembly in the NHCS gym to welcome the Halcyon String Quartet in their performance of LISTEN. Earlier this year, NHCS students in middle & high school collaborated with Halcyon on this project. See full description below. We welcome parents & community members to join us for this event!

Pairing excerpts from community interviews with music and our stop-motion animations, Listen reflects on the shared values of finding common ground as we collectively work to strengthen our communities and our relationships with each other and the natural world. Weaving together words from students, educators, artists, loggers, ecologists, and legislators, Listen inspires us to make a practice of listening, connecting, and understanding as we move towards building a more just future.
