Climate Ambassador Program
As a part of a Community Action Grant awarded to North Haven & Vinalhaven, A Climate to Thrive will be offering a free, five-week, Climate Ambassador program for any interested community members (including students!) to participate this spring. Tap into your unique skills and interests to drive forward climate solutions and form stronger climate networks across our communities. Open to participants of all ages and backgrounds, with no prior experience required.
The Climate Ambassador Program is an opportunity to learn more about local climate impacts and initiatives, and to collaborate with others in North Haven and Vinalhaven on any related projects and outreach that you’re passionate about.
Meetings will mostly be hosted over Zoom on Thursday evenings from 5:30 – 7pm. Dates for meetings are: 4/11, 4/25, 5/2, 5/9 & 5/16. We hope to host one or two of these gatherings in-person with a shared meal.
You can view the attached flyer for more details and register using the link below! Spots are limited, so sign up soon: https://forms.gle/RX3ANtd9oo1CisY38

Thorofare Waterfront Project Community Survey – Deadline Extended to Friday, April 19
The Town of North Haven, in collaboration with GEI Consultants, is embarking on the information and data collection stage of the Thorofare Waterfront Project and wants to hear your initial feedback! Please take a few minutes to fill out this survey and share your concerns, observations, and ideas as we work towards a comprehensive solution for the Thorofare Waterfront area.
The survey link can be found here: https://arcg.is/1L9XHK0. Paper copies are also available at the Town Office, Waterman’s, and the Store. Please submit your response by Friday, April 19.
We hope to hear from as broad a range of community members as possible – including students, school faculty and staff, and families – who hope to preserve and adapt our Thorofare Waterfront for current & future generations.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, and please stay tuned for further project updates. More information about the Thorofare Waterfront Project can be found on the Town website here. For questions about the survey or project, please contact Rick Lattimer (administrator@northhavenmaine.org) and Claire Oxford (COxford@islandsintitute.org).
