And just like that, we are over the halfway mark of the first quarter in this current school year. This would be a great time to reach out to your child's teachers if you have any questions about their progress. If your student is of a certain age or grade level, you should already be getting "guardian" emails from Google Classroom, where you can check what assignments are due and what grades have been submitted. We've now "opened" Infinite Campus for all parents and families, but are still working out some bugs with the sync to Google Workspace. Most data should be available. If it isn't, reach out to your child's teacher and we can troubleshoot.
The bottom line: it is always faster and more efficient to reach out to teachers directly, either by email or phone.
In the next couple of weeks, your child may also be taking the required slate of benchmark assessments, which are now called the Maine Through Year Assessments (formerly NWEA). We are going to make sure everyone has access to their child's respective reports once we have them. The data will also be a topic for an upcoming Ask Me Anything on the last Monday of each month.
Finally, given that it is Indigenous People's Day on Monday, you can check out some great resources at this link on the topic if you'd like to continue the conversation at home.
