Everyone has had more than their fair share of wind, rain, and flooding over the last couple of weeks. We are still in the midst of an aftermath for these storms as folks continue repairs and clean-up. However, despite the disruptions, we are grateful that everyone is safe and sound. We definitely look forward to recapturing some sense of normalcy this week and next.
But where would we be without disruptions to the basketball schedule? A few previous games have been cancelled due to weather, and we will now have to postpone the Thursday and Friday contests against Vinalhaven due to destruction of the float. New dates and times are forthcoming. Take a look at the schedule below to see what games we have coming up this week, starting tomorrow.
At the start of each week, we continue the tradition of whole school meetings around the flagpole, weather permitting. This is a very unique practice for schools. Our small size affords us the tremendous privilege of holding gatherings with everyone present. Since we are off Monday, we will be holding our whole school meeting on Tuesday morning instead.
Anyone interested in attending this flagpole meeting is definitely welcome because we will be doing a couple of special things. One, we will be introducing a new form of shared governance at NHCS called Hawks Town Meetings. Second, we will recognize several student volunteers who went above and beyond helping prepare for and clean up after the most recent weather events. Community is one of the four core values that NHCS holds dear and we must celebrate those who rise to the occasion. Feel free to join us at 8AM this Tuesday.
